"Eve and the Forbidden Fruit"
is written in a cheeky yet honest way that links various subjects and issues together, represented by beautiful art.
The following progression is a bit different to how the actual Art Book will be set out, however it does show some of the progression and the way in which differing issues can be linked, and features some examples of the art that will be included!
Naturally, this Art Book begins with some beautiful art of Eve:

An important aspect of the Eve story is the temptation of the 'forbidden fruit' . . . Eve is the main character in the narrative and Adam is conspicuously absent!:

The early church viewed the forbidden fruit as a symbolism for sexual intercourse . . . Like Eve, all women were viewed as the cause of temptation - and so nudity and sexual intercourse were frowned upon by the church:

By the medieval era society was truly under the dominion of the Church. And it is from this era that many of contemporary society's poor views about sexuality and nudity are inherited from:

"The Whore" "the Fruit"
Artist & copyright : Dani Kaulakis
Of the above art, Dani says:
"The Whore" was originally a cover piece for a graphic novel that I've never completed. The piece in of itself examines the role Eve plays in the genesis story and how biblical narrative paints her as being the "greater" sinner. With this piece I was also trying to draw parallels from her punishment (to lust for her husband, but bear children in agony for it) to the derogatory term "whore" (a woman who engages in sexual acts for fun or money but suffers a severe social stigma for her promiscuity).
In "the Fruit" piece I was trying to explore the consequences of the
Tree of Knowledge story and how such an action impacts the character in
Genisis as well as humanity as a whole.

Thus it is important to "go back" to Ancient civilizations to see how they viewed clothes and nudity and to compare/contrast this with today's western society . . .
In Ancient Egypt clothes often separated young from old:

Clothes also separated the rich from the poor. The poor could wear harsh linen - but the rich and powerful wore linen so fine it was see through:

A contemporary example of clothes which have a functional purpose but also pleasing to the eye . . . Swimwear!
Like some of the clothes in Ancient Egypt, the Bikini has a dual role of functionality and sensuality:
In an unique way Advertisers are also promoted in the book - it is hoped that a number of sponsors would showcase some of their lines throughout the book - their financial sponsorship would help lower the price of the book, and/or help contribute towards remuneration for artists!

About the Designer:
Tracy Wootton lives in the lush green mountains above Australia's beautiful Sunshine Coast. Born and raised in a sub tropical climate, she has the beach in her blood. With an artistic background, she rekindled her childhood passion for crochet and began crocheting bikinis 7 years ago, incorporating her love of the colour and fine detailed work into her own crochet designs. Each piece is hand dyed and intricately beaded, and each custom piece is completely unique. These intriguing pieces have been inspired by nature and a desire to create mesmerising works of wearable art. They are becoming more and more sought after by people who want to wear something as individual as they are.

The Breast is also a good example of the juxtaposition between function and erotica -
The Breast has always been an important source of nourishment for a new born baby:

Yet the Breast is, at the same time, an object of sensual and erotic attraction:

Now some many think that this preoccupation
with the female breast is a modern phenomenon -
but nothing could be further than the truth!
The female form was regarded just as erotic in Ancient times:
From the Tan'ch, (the Bible's Old Testament) - A beautiful piece of poetry from Song of Songs:
How pretty you are, how beautiful;
how complete the delights of your love.
You are as graceful as a palm tree,
and your breasts are clusters of dates.
I will climb the palm tree
and pick its fruit.
To me your breasts
are like bunches of grapes,
Your breath
like the fragrance of apples,
Your mouth
like the finest wine.

Even further back, during the 'Old Kingdom' of Egypt, Pharaoh Sneferu - being a little bored - had 20 young, beautiful and curvacious women dress only in fishnets and row him up the river!

Perhaps Pharaoh Sneferu invented the first lingerie prototype - throughout history many societies forced women to wear differing forms of lingerie, either because of religious requirements or the male demand . . . however, today women wear lingerie because of their own choices - to feel good about themselves, to be comfortable, and, yes, to seduce:
